Renowned Canadian performance painter Giselle Denis, who was the resident artist at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai for the past month, has donated one of her paintings to the CBC Abu Dhabi. Her painting “She’s Alive and Free” will be auctioned at our upcoming annual Maple Leaf Ball, a special event celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary, to be held at the InterContinental Hotel, 27 April 2017.
Giselle’s distinctive trademark is painting nature in bright bold colours, with such warmth and joy that you can’t help but feel happy when you look at it. In a recent interview with CBC Board member Hans Fraikin, she explained “I try and connect to people in a unique way through my live painting experience. I paint hope.” Some of you may have seen her performance paint at The Celebrate Canada event held at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi last March 17th.
Giselle also has been live-painting for charities for 6 yearsand her work has raised over $250,000. One of her paintings recently sold for $50,000 at a Little Warriors fundraiser. She has a goal to raise $1million for charity.
Her art is being collected all over the world. Permanent collections of her work can be seen at Wildflower Grill, The Hotel Metterra & the Hotel Macdonald, design firms & corporate offices in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
