The forum aims at enhancing communication between business councils in Abu Dhabi, companies operating in the emirate and international ones in order to increase the role these councils and companies play in the sustainable and comprehensive economic development process in Abu Dhabi. The Forum also aims to support the sectors that the economic plan focuses on to diversify income resources and to concentrate on a knowledge-based economy.
His Excellency Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, pointed to the necessity of holding this forum which comes along with the celebrations of the country in the 46th National Day.
“The forum will bring together heads and directors of a number of business councils and companies operating in different sectors in Abu Dhabi under one roof. It comes in a very important moment to the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular. It comes as we celebrate the 46th National Day, which is a dear anniversary to the Emirati people.” Al-Rumaithi said.
“Celebrating the national day goes in line with the emirate achieving many goals on different levels, especially on the economic and trade ones. Abu Dhabi was able to transform economic challenges into huge accomplishments; it was able to realize a huge and rapid increase in GDP; attract investments, capitals and companies; and hit high and unprecedented growth rates.”
The Chairman stated that such results shed a light on how far economic plans and strategies were able to achieve their goals in economic transformation by setting a sustainable and diverse economic model alongside integrating with the world economy. Such goals can be realized through expanding all sectors and improving performance as well as motivating the private sector to play a bigger role and expanding to new markets, encouraging foreign investment inflows, and realizing the highest productivity rates and competitiveness.
