Miles Chambers is the Director of Business Development, Platforms & Systems, EDGE – an advanced technology group for defence and beyond. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving business development across the cluster and its entities. Miles possesses a wealth of experience in international markets and, more specifically, the UAE industry, which he is able to leverage to support EDGE in its domestic and export market objectives.

Prior to this, he worked at Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC), an entity which was consolidated within the EDGE group. Miles has also previously overseen several of EDGE’s entities, namely NIMR Automotive, leading the international expansion of the business and the acquisition of Manurhin – a 100-year old French company specialising in ammunition manufacturing machinery.

Earlier, Miles served as Director of Business Development at Paramount Group, a leading defence and security company based in South Africa. During his 11-year tenure, he oversaw the organisation’s expansion into markets outside Africa, while also managing several technology transfer programmes.

Miles holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Corporate Finance and Information Systems and an Honours degree in Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.


Iain Walsh – CAE Strategy & Business Development Director 

Iain Walsh graduated from the University of London with a degree in Physics and holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol. Iain has been interested in aerospace from an early age and still recalls with absolute clarity watching Neil Armstrong on a tiny black & white TV taking those famous first steps on our nearest celestial neighbor. 

 For the past 3 years, Iain has been responsible for strategy and business development for CAE in the Middle East with a specific focus on developing CAE’s successful programmes in UAE for other regional governments and their defence forces.
